KISS and Motley to CLIPSAL 500!

It doesn’t get any bigger than this! KISS and very special guests Mötley Crüe take to the stage on Sunday 3 March for the final concert at the 2013 Clipsal 500 Adelaide presented by Radio Mix 102.3.

KISS and Mötley Crüe have just completed a 45-date US summer tour and are excited to bring their spectacular shows to Australia next. This will be the biggest concert ever held at “The Race That Rocks”!

Kiss is Gene Simmons: bass/vocals, Paul Stanley: vocals/guitar, Tommy Thayer: guitar/vocals, and Eric Singer: drums/vocals, and as Paul Stanley puts it – “We’re a real, flesh-and-blood rock and roll band with people who’ve spent 40 years doing what we believe in.”

January 2013 will mark four decades since Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, then members of a band called Wicked Lester, joined up with drummer Peter Criss and guitarist Ace Frehley to form KISS. Forty years later, having racked up 28 U.S. gold albums along with 40 million U.S. and 100 million in world sales, Simmons and Stanley, with long- time members guitarist Tommy Thayer and drummer Eric Singer, are at the top of their game both in live performance and with “Monster”, the 20th studio album in their historic career.

The 12-song, straight-ahead rock ’n’ roll album features collaborations from all four members and is the group’s first studio album since the band’s 2009 smash success “Sonic Boom”. The album’s first single, the full-throttle rocker “Hell or Hallelujah” outlines the group’s long-held “take no prisoners” philosophy, what Stanley calls “a battle cry that encapsulates the entire record… one way or another, we’re going to do it our way.”

“Monster” represents KISS’ nod to the music that first inspired them to pick up their guitars and flamethrowers and don makeup to entertain millions.

“We’re about authenticity,” says Simmons, the mastermind of not just the band’s music but a multi-million-dollar merchandising empire that includes everything from coffee-table books to coffins. “The KISS Army is ruthless. They’d skewer us if we put out records that weren’t great. We pushed ourselves on this album, to make not just ourselves but our fans proud. We try to hit a home run every swing we take. If we’re going to win, win big”.

The concert marks their first visit to Australia since 2008.

Mötley Crüe is: Vince Neil: Vocals, Mick Mars: Guitar, Nikki Sixx: bass, and Tommy Lee: Drums.

Perhaps the most momentous accomplishment of Mötley Crüe’s rock n’ roll legacy is the fact that its original members have survived to tell their tale—while remaining as active and relevant today as bands half their age, many of whom validated their own mojo from the original bad boys of rock.

After three decades of decadence, Mötley Crüe maintains its iron will, capturing new fans and influencing musicians across multiple generations.

Vocalist Vince Neil, guitarist Mick Mars, bassist Nikki Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee have commandeered the rock pantheon for 30 years now and yet, Mötley Crüe’s rock royalty emanates with as much kickass iridescent relevance in the millennium as it did in the 1980s.
The Crüe’s bragging rights comprise worldwide album sales exceeding 80 million—25 million in the U.S.—seven platinum or multi-platinum albums, 22 top 40 mainstream rock hits, six top 20 pop singles, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, three Grammy nominations for Best Hard Rock Performance, a New York Times bestselling memoir, and tours logging more than 1,350 live gigs across the globe, to date. The band’s output encompasses nine studio and two live albums, six compilation CDs, three box sets, nine DVDs, and 24 singles with accompanying music videos.

The group recently invaded Las Vegas with the city’s first ever hard rock residency, “Mötley Crüe in Sin City” leaving the loud impression that what happens in Vegas can be heard around the world.

Kiss/Motley Donate $100K to Aurora Victim Relief Fund

Englewood, Colorado (August 9, 2012)—Rock legends KISS and MÖTLEY CRÜE announced at their summer concert in Englewood, Colorado last night that they will donate $100,000 to the Aurora Victim Relief Fund in the wake of the devastating movie theatre shooting in Aurora, CO on July 20, 2012. The announcement was made after the bands performed for fans at a stop on THE TOUR which will travel to 40 plus cities across the U.S. this summer.

“Following the heartbreaking news of the senseless shootings in Colorado we wanted to do something to help the families and victims. We bonded together with our tour partners and friends Kiss to donate money, but we also hope it inspires others to do the same, no matter how big or small,” said Nikki Sixx of MÖTLEY CRÜE .

“The terror these innocent victims of the Aurora massacre must have experienced and the profound loss their families now face is unimaginable. We hope that our small gesture helps inspire others to band together in compassion and financial support for all involved in this unspeakable tragedy,” said Paul Stanley of KISS.

“This generous donation to the Aurora Victim Relief Fund will be used to help meet the immediate and long-term needs of the victims and their families,” said Marla J. Williams, president and CEO of Community First Foundation. “Gifts like this one remind us that there are so many who care not only in our community but in communities around the country.”

The Aurora Victim Relief Fund at Community First Foundation
The Aurora Victim Relief Fund has been established in partnership with Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper through Community First Foundation. This fund will be used only to meet the immediate and long-term needs of victims and their families and, as funds are available, the broad needs of those affected in the community. A group of community representatives, including individuals and providers, will assist with establishing priorities and selecting the nonprofits that will receive money from this fund. Community First Foundation will not charge any administrative fees for these gifts.
