A message from Tommy Lee...

As some of you may have heard, I sustained an injury of severe inflammation to my left wrist and was unable to play the show the other night in Buffalo. I’m so sorry to say that the injury has not improved and it is unlikely I will be able to perform again tonight in Bridgeport. Regardless, the show must go on and Alice Cooper's amazing drummer, Glen Sobel will be filling in for me on drums. I will, however, come on stage to see everyone and also to play the piano with my good hand for the finale on Home Sweet Home. I am told this injury is temporary and that I will be back on stage very shortly. I'm doing everything in my power to speed up the healing process, I hate not being able to play for you guys!!

The Countdown Begins To Crue Years Eve

MOTLEY CRUE Kicks Off “Countdown To Crue Year’s Eve” with sold-out show in Eugene, OR

Band introduces the “Crüesnest” and spectacular new production elements to fans

Motley Crue: The Final TourNew York, NY (July 23, 2015) – Iconic rock band Mötley Crüe has set out on the last leg of their two-year Final Tour cycle igniting the “Countdown To Crüe Year’s Eve” with a packed house at the sold-out Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene, Oregon last night. The band’s touring career will conclude for good in less than six months on New Year’s Eve, December 31 at Staples Center in their hometown of Los Angeles, the city where the band’s career began 34 years ago.

In addition to Nikki Sixx’s fire spitting bass and Tommy Lee’s “Crüecifly” drum roller coaster, last night’s show in Eugene had the band introduce numerous spectacular brand new must-see production elements to their Final Tour performance leaving fans with nothing less but the most elaborate and cutting edge show production of Mötley Crüe’s career to date. The band also for the first time introduced the “Crüesnest” to their audience last night: a special platform attached to their second stage which enables some fans to watch the grand finale of the show from the best seats in the house. Crüesnest seats provide the ultimate viewing experience as they are separated from the band by merely a few feet. Riders of the experience are strapped and buckled into one of only a few seats at the foot of the second stage. The platform raises approximately 25 feet into the air and gives a birds-eye view of the venue as well as an unprecedented up close and personal view of the band while they perform the finale of their show. After thirty-four years performing together, the 2015 leg of the Final Tour includes shows all across the globe. September will see the band perform their final Mexico shows and also take them to Brazil one last time to play Rock In Rio before embarking on their last ever European dates in November and returning to Canada and the US for dates leading into Christmas and the very final show on New Year’s eve.

By the end of 2015, The Final Tour will have visited an impressive 5 continents since July 2014 (North America, South America, Europe, Australia and Asia) for a total of more than 164 shows.

Mötley Crüe first announced plans for their two year Final Tour by signing a Cessation Of Touring Agreement at a press conference in Los Angeles in January 2014, solidifying the end of their touring career for December 2015. Since the announcement the band has been touring tirelessly to say goodbye to fans around the world including Japan, Australia and New Zealand earlier this year.

Audiences can also expect a high-energy performance from very special guest Alice Cooper, who joined the band for the Final Tour in 2014. He will be tearing up the stage for crowds across North America once again on most 2015 dates. The pairing has been roundly praised as a must-see by fans and media alike.

The Final Tour marks the end of an era for the band. In January 2014, all four original members gathered to sign a binding ‘Cessation Of Touring’ agreement taking effect at the end of 2015 before a press conference in their hometown of Los Angeles and announcing the global two-year Final Tour. A year later, on January 20, 2015 in New York City, the band announced Mötley Crüe’s highly anticipated final live performance of the band to take place at LA's Staples Centre on New Year’s Eve 2015. The 2014 portion of ‘The Final Tour’ was one of last year’s top grossing US tours, selling close to a million tickets across 72 cities and grossing more than $45 million USD.

Australian fans had better brace themselves; the mighty Crüe are bringing their full production with them, including the ground breaking Crüecifly drum coaster, fire spitting bass, over the top pyrotechnics, that have made ‘The Final Tour’ such a wildly successful, memorable experience for hundreds of thousands across the world. “My career focus has been on building artist’s careers – it’s kind of perversely cool to be responsible for ending one,” says Michael Coppel, president & CEO, Live Nation Australasia.

Bassist, Nikki Sixx says of the band’s visit, “We can’t wait to celebrate 34 years of Mötley Crüe with our Australian fans and come over there one last time. We always have an amazing time in Australia and we’re not holding back either... we are bringing along our full production including the Crüecifly drum coaster, as well as the pyro and every other bell and whistle.”

Ensuring they farewell Australia in epic style, the inimitable Alice Cooper will accompany Mötley Crüe on all Australian dates as very special guest. The Hall Of Fame inductee continues to connect with Australian audiences via his broadly acclaimed radio show Nights With Alice Cooper, which airs on a variety of rock networks Australia-wide.

Once coined the most evil rock singer in the world, Alice Cooper recently suggested Crüe let him kill them on stage, “That finishes everything. Four guillotines, floomp! Done!” he enthused. While his villainous vision may not be realised, an equally evil performance is guaranteed as Cooper unleashes his hard rock classics.

Thirty-four years into one of the most tumultuous and staggeringly successful careers in the history of rock music, Mötley Crüe continue to command unwavering allegiance from fans of all ages. The classic line-up of Vince Neil, Tommy Lee, Nikki Sixx and Mick Mars still packs a powerful punch and they’re ready to remind Australian audiences why Mötley Crüe will go down in history as one of the greatest rock bands of all time.

Coinciding with the announcement of the final dates and the theme of the Final Tour, the band also released its new single ‘All Bad Things’, which is available for sale digitally here. The single is accompanied by a video clip of highlights spanning the 34-year career of Mötley Crüe which can be found here.

Do not miss one of the tours of 2015 - Mötley Crüe with special guest Alice Cooper!
